The ECS Fortunate was a Y-class starship of the 22nd century Earth Cargo Service. The Fortunate was commanded by Captain Keene, Matthew Ryan served as her first officer prior to 2151.
The ship was armed with plasma weapons and able to haul 20 kilotons at a maximum speed of warp 1.8.
In 2151, the ship was attacked by Nausicaan pirates. The Fortunate was damaged and Captain Keene injured, one of the Nausicaans was captured in the process. Ryan led the ship on a mission of revenge, which led to his later demotion. (ENT] :"Fortunate Son")
